Ronald McDonald House Charity Spreads Corvette Love

Ronald McDonald House Car Giveaways Spread Some Corvette Love

RMHC 05Here at Corvette Online, we understand the love, passion, and heritage surrounding America’s great sports car. The Corvette’s legend represents decades of American ingenuity, passion for performance, and an ever-growing community with the goal of spreading the obsession.

One of the great things about the Corvette community (and a good many other car communities, for that matter) is its ability to not only spread the obsession, but reach out and aid others while doing it. For 22 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) has been working to blend the passion for cars with the passion for helping others through their annual Collector Car Drawings.

RMHC is a charity organization spread across the globe, with local chapters in more than 60 different countries and regions. Their goal, as stated on the RMHC website is “to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children”. They do so by providing housing and support for children in need and their families, as well as hosting and supporting various events – such as the Collector Car Giveaway through the Central Valley chapter.

Ronald McDonald House Charities shares a corporate relationship with McDonald’s, who’s support has helped keep doors open since the charity’s start in 1974. But just as heavily as they rely on McDonald’s support, RMHC depends on contributions from the entire community. The organization is entirely non-profit, so any benefits they receive are directly poured into changing lives.

The annual Collector Car Drawing is the Central Valley chapter’s largest event – meaning that us gearheads can potentially have the biggest impact. The drawing, now moving on to its 23rd year, has consisted of many great American sports and muscle cars – including a ’65 Shelby Cobra, ’69 Camaro RS/SS and, of course, quite a few gorgeous ‘Vettes.

RMHC 04This past year (as you may have already read about in some of our previous articles), the Central Valley RMHC had up for raffle a pair of jaw-dropping Corvettes: a 1967 Stingray with a 427-cube V8, and the 6.2-liter, supercharged 2015 Z06. And as if the ‘Vettes themselves weren’t enough, a cash prize of $20,000 was also awarded to both of their winners.

But while the 2015 year has recently come to a close – with drawings ended and both cars in the hands of some lucky new owners – we are very much looking forward to what the 2016 drawing will hold. The Central Valley RMHC has stated that they’ll be announcing this years prize-cars over the next few months.

RMHC 06Even more important than the giveaway, however, is the fact that – for the 23rd year – the Central Valley Ronald McDonald House Charity will be able to raise tens of thousands of dollars for their cause. Every cent of the fundraiser’s earnings goes directly towards keeping their doors open.

Information on entry tickets and their recommended donation amounts are found on the Central Valley chapter’s Collector Car Giveaway website, and will be updated with the 2016 Giveaway announcements. We highly encourage everyone to pick up at least a few tickets – not only for a chance at one of these stunning cars, but in an effort to have a positive impact on families in need.
