IMG_3578JRi Shocks may be one of the less prominent suppliers of high-performance running gear when faced with big-name competitors, but despite their modest appearance, its offerings are unique and exciting, and we had to catch up with them at this years SEMA Show.

IMG_3576Among the latest products from JRi is a new S550 kit for the new Ford Mustang, and new adjustable coilover suspension for the Slingshot, a three-wheeled, open-cockpit roadster that has gained a following among enthusiasts and support from the aftermarket industry.

“Really, it’s our bread and butter, we’ve been building these for seven years,” explained Jeff Ryan of JRi. “We had to do a couple of little changes, but these are our standard single-adjustable shocks, and they are also available in non-adjustable. If the customer wanted a double-adjustable or four-way, we could accommodate.”

IMG_3580Also on display in JRi’s booth was a heavily modified, LS-swapped Slingshot featuring all of its suspension components. Adding to the custom modifications offered for the Slingshot is JRi’s hydraulic lowering kit.

“We put our hydraulic ride-height system on to raise and lower it. That’s been pretty popular because guys are lowering them to the point where they have such a low valance you can’t get them up into the garage.” Ryan continued.

Beginning in January 2016, Ryan will return to his technical director role after wearing the management hat for sometime. He projects that they will have as many as six new products ready next year, so stay tuned to JRi for developments in off-road, street and strip, and motorsports suspension news.
