WVW: A Stingray With A Broken Wing

WVW: A Stingray With A Broken Wing

resizerIt would be a sad day in any Corvette owner’s life to view the damage to their beloved car after going through an accident. Obviously the first concern of any collision is whether or not the driver and passengers are okay, and everyone at Corvette Online always hopes they are.

Unlike many of the cars featured here on Wrecked Vette Wednesday, three of the four sides of this Corvette look as good as new. Unfortunately, the passenger-side door seems to have taken the full brunt of the impact. The front airbags did not fire, however the report from Insurance Auto Auctions Inc. mentioned that the passenger-right side airbag did deploy. If it weren’t for the report we would be unaware as the adjoining door appears to be laying on the ground, next to the crippled Stingray.

While little is known about the crash or the welfare of the occupants, we are going to assume that the safety measures built into the Corvette fulfilled their duties and allowed the occupants to go home with nothing more than a couple of broken hearts.

Image/s missing.

For those interested in the car specifically, it is currently listed as “Auction Not Assigned” but should be shortly, and is listed as stock number: 15080889. The Vette is a 2015 Stingray 3LT Z51 and appropriately labeled on the site as “Luxury Sport” for vehicle class. With the tremendous lateral grip of the new C7, we have to imagine that this car unloaded out of a corner and slid into a rather large, solid object like a telephone or light pole… or maybe it was T-boned by a Smart car.

You can be the judge!
