Video: 510 Race Engineering’s Z06 Goes 208 MPH at The Texas Mile

We love seeing cars like the Z06 getting used for exactly what they were built for – creating speed. Lots, and lots of speed. In this video produced by our buddies at Gearhead Flicks we get to watch as the guys from 510 Race Engineering do just that by taking their built 2008 C6 Z06 down The Texas Mile this past March.

The Corvette features 510 Race Engineering’s complete Stage III treatment, which starts with the stock LS7 being punched out just a tad to 440 cubic inches. After that, the stock heads are treated to a port and polish, along with a custom ground COMP cam, American Racing 2-inch primary headers, and a Corsa Extreme cat-back. If that wasn’t enough, a healthy dose of laughing gas was thrown in the mix just for good measure. On nitrous the Corvette reportedly pumps out 855 rear wheel horsepower, and – get this – 1,100 pound feet of earth-shifting torque.

The rest of the driveline is rounded out with a bullet-proof TR6060 six-speed trans from RPM, an LS9 clutch, DSS axles, and a Pfadt one-piece carbon fiber drive shaft. The suspension also features an arsenal of Pfadt gear including their sweet BOA feather-light coil overs, swaybars, and roll bar.

As you can see from the video, all that go-fast gear  isn’t just for looking cool or bragging rights. The guys from 510 Race Engineering put every ounce of the Z06’s power and poise to good use and push the C6 to 208.3 MPH – the fastest standing mile speed of any 510 tuned car to date!
