The popularity of Chevrolet’s baddest Camaro ever, the 2012 ZL1, has grown to new heights. The enthusiasts have taken a such a strong liking to the car that the aftermarket has absolutely no choice but to respond. It does have a factory boosted LS powerplant, after all.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been covering the several different AIRAID air intakes for the ZL1 from their MXP Series, and they just sent us over this video depicting the installation of one such kit.
Included is a 1300CFM premium AIRAID filter, a large one-piece root-molded air box, and a 4.25-inch silicone intake tube that is reinforced with stainless steel lying for high vacuum applications.
Like all of the MXP Series air-intakes intended for use with the ZL1, it includes the a billet aluminum MAF housing and all of the hardware.
All technical trivia aside, AIRAID is claiming that ZL1 owners can see up to a 57+HP and 58+LB/FT of torque increase from this one simple modification. However, AIRAID does go on to suggest that for optimum performance, tuning will be required after installation.
