Video: Trans Am Blows Its Lid During Burnout Competition

It’s been a little while since we brought you a dose of some good old fashioned tire melting mayhem, so we’re bringing back the burnouts with this video we recently discovered on YouTube. This video was reportedly filmed at the 2011 Turkey Burn, held every year around Thanksgiving in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. From what we can gather, the premise of the event is very simple; bring what you’ve got and blow the treads off to your heart’s desire. We’ve come across videos of everything from 10 second race-prepped drag cars to 4×4 muddin machines boiling the hides at the Turkey Burn.

The LT1 WS6 Trans Am featured in this particular Turkey Burn video gives an especially good smoke show, and things only get better when he starts turning donuts and flings the F-body so hard that the rear hatch pops open, and chucks out the plastic privacy shelf at the crowd. Much to the driver’s credit, he just keeps right on going with the show, paying no mind to the fact that his rear window is now twirling above his car, bouncing at the whims of the centrifugal forces. Of course the crowd eats it up, and rewards him with a well-deserved ovation. Finally after almost a minute and a half of abusing the rear tires, the driver decides to shut it down… and hopefully go retrieve the lost articles from his trunk.
