Who doesn’t love a force-fed LSX? I know we sure do, and this video we recently came across on YouTube features a pretty stout Procharger-boosted LS mill in a 5th Gen Camaro. According to the video, the 5th Gen is running a 416 cubic inch LSX, with a Procharger cramming 14 PSI into through the intake ports, and cranking out a respectable 780 rear wheel horsepower.
The video is shot at State Capitol Raceway, in Port Allen, Louisiana, and the cameraman does a good job of getting some pre-race shots and info on the car. The person we assume to be the owner/driver tells he cameraman, “It’s just heavy – it weighs 4,200 pounds. I’ve got a Z06 [that] weighs 3,000. That’s [worth] a second right there. This is supposed to be running 9.30’s!”
We don’t get any info on the car’s suspension set up, but it must be a custom configuration considering the video states that the car is running a Ford 9-inch solid rear axle, rather than the stock independent rear suspension (hopefully the owner will see this, and chime in). You can also observe from the video that the Camaro is running slicks to hook up all that power the Procharged LSX is pushing.
Also, check out the license plate – reading, “SAY-WHN”. Once the light is green and the driver’s right foot says “when,” the yellow Camaro lays down a 10.429 at 130.83 MPH.
