With more than five decades of experience producing close-tolerance, high-strength castings, the experts at BRODIX are well-versed in aluminum engine blocks. The company introduced its first aluminum Chevrolet small-block more than 30 years ago, so it comes as no surprise that BRODIX is once again pushing the envelope: this time with all-new aluminum LS blocks.
Cast from the company’s proprietary A356 alloy, the new LS blocks will be offered in a standard 9.240-inch deck height, along with a taller 10.000-inch option designed to accommodate longer strokes and increased displacement. In addition to different deck heights, buyers will have the choice of standard or raised cam locations. BRODIX’s new LS blocks will also feature two choices of bore size. The first is a 4.000-inch sleeve, the same bore found in GM’s 6.0-liter LQ9 engines, and the second is a 4.125-inch sleeve, a bore specific to GM’s 7.0-liter LS7.

A356 aluminum is a high-performance silicon-magnesium alloy that’s known for excellent strength, so the blocks should perform well either naturally aspirated or with various power adders. Speaking of boost, the LS blocks will be offered with either standard-sized main bearings or Cleveland-sized main bearings. And every block will automatically be equipped with splayed, .500-inch main studs that, in addition to being side-bolted, integrate a solid dowel pin.
BRODIX has long been a go-to source for high-quality engine blocks, and this new aluminum LS offering continues that tradition. With a reinforced bottom-end and multiple deck heights, cam locations, and bore options, the blocks are designed to give enthusiasts the flexibility and strength required for today’s big horsepower scene. Whether the goal is a street-friendly stroker, a naturally aspirated race engine, or a boosted powerhouse, BRODIX’s latest LS blocks are poised to provide a great foundation for your next build!
