PRI 2022: LS And LT Powered Cars Make A Strong Presence In Indy

PRI 2022: LS And LT Powered Cars Make A Strong Presence In Indy

The Performance Racing Industry trade show encompasses all things motorsports related. If you are a gearhead, then Indianapolis, Indiana, is where you want to be each December. As expected, PRI 2022 did not disappoint. The PRI show is like a giant jewelry store for high-performance enthusiasts.

There was something for everyone at PRI 2022. Shawn Basset had his very impressive carbon-bodied Nissan time attack car in the Haltech booth. Justin Keith brought out Nemo, his record-setting twin-turbo sixth-gen Camaro drag car sporting GForce Engineering axles. Turn One Performance Steering featured Bob Bertelsen's killer "Solar Flare" '63 Corvette.

There was no shortage of LS- and LT-powered cars and trucks on display for all of us to drool over. Streetcars, no-prep drag cars, big-wheel donks, road racing trucks, and everything in between were on hand. In addition to the incredible vehicles, countless manufacturers were in attendance to showcase the latest and greatest in high-performance LS and LT components.

Chevrolet had a large presence at this year's PRI show with multiple vehicles, engines, and parts on display. This 1970 Camaro built by the Chevrolet Performance division is tastefully done with an LT4 crate engine, a 6-speed Super Magnum transmission, 19-inch wheels, and Corvette Z06 suspension with a coilover conversion. The team at GM also created a one-of-kind grille as a tip of the cap to the current sixth-gen Camaro.

Many unique vehicles throughout the event got our attention, but only one stole the show all weekend. That honor would undoubtedly go to the newly built twin-turbo Chevy Nova belonging to William Tetro. This small-tire Nova is as much a show car as it is a race car. The paint was incredible, the polished parts were blinding, the stance was perfect, and of course, it had a 427 LS fed by twin turbochargers. We will be covering this wicked Nova more in-depth soon.

William Tetro's new Chevy Nova could easily be nicknamed "Freeze Frame" because every person that walked by it stopped and stared. From every angle, the car is gorgeous, and with a twin-turbo LS engine featuring components from Frankenstein Engine Dynamics, it should make plenty of power to hurt some feelings.

As with past PRI events, we have spent three days walking over 10 miles around the Indiana Convention Center to bring you all the LS- and LT-related content. Feast your eyes on the amazing vehicles that were brought in to show what can be done with the platform we love. Look for features on several of these cars soon!
