It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of superchargers. ProCharger has been in the supercharger business for more than 20 years, which means they are the go-to guys for forced induction.

We spoke with Erik Radzins at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The company had two beautiful vehicles on display at its booth, which were sporting some seriously awesome new hardware.

ProCharger-105The first vehicle we spotted was a ProCharged ’15 Mustang GT. The car was built by Terry Delong of Proconcepts, LLC in Avilla, Indiana. It features a P-1SC-1 Stage II Intercooled kit, which is good for 600-plus rear-wheel horsepower on only nine psi of boost on a completely stock engine.

Radzins comments about the kit, stating, “This kit is completely bolt-on, with no permanent modifications required. That means not cutting, welding, or anything. The kit is very easy and straight-forward to install. I’ve personally installed this kit in about five hours total time, while documenting each step. You only need about six tools to complete the job, just a few sockets, and some wrenches — maybe a flat head screwdriver. The drivability is second-to-none. Cold start, hot start, idling — it’s all like-factory. There’s no drama.”

Features of the P-1SC-1 Stage II Intercooled Kit:

  • 600 rear-wheel horsepower capable.
  • ProCharger’s patented self-contained supercharger system design. No external oil lines required.
  • Dedicated eight-rib supercharger pulley and belt system.
  • Increased horsepower by 55 percent (compared to stock cars with a 91-octane tune).
  • High-efficiency air-to-air intercooler design.
  • H.O. and Stage II kit retain ability to change head-units from D-1SC-1 to F-1A-94, ranging from 600 to 1,225 horsepower.

ProCharger-109Next on the list was ProCharger’s ’15 C7 Z06 Corvette on display, which was built by Advanced Modern Performance out of Arlington, Texas. Because the C7 Z06 is rather new to the market, we asked Radzins how the company is able to achieve such high-horsepower numbers with this kit. He replied, “The factory supercharger is completely replaced. We provide a billet-aluminum intake manifold in place of the factory unit, which is fabricated in-house. Any supercharger we offer, from a P-1SC-1 to a F-1X, will work with this manifold and kit without any modifications required. This car uses a F-1X. On 22 psi of boost, we’re pushing 1,020 rear-wheel horsepower — and that’s on a 93 octane pump-gas tune. It’s the first C7 Z06 in the world to make those numbers on boost only.”

ProCharger-110Radzins continued, “The air-to-air intercooler provided in the kit replaces all of the factory heat exchangers and pumps. Like our other kits, this one requires no permanent modifications, and the car can be brought back to factory-spec at your choosing. The engine is completely stock on this car, and we plan to be the first company to find out what it can handle. The billet intake manifold is available for both the LT1 powered Corvette, and the LT4 powered Z06, though they are separate components.”

Features of this F-1X Intercooled Race Tuner Kit:

  • 1,020 rear-wheel horsepower, 833 rear-wheel torque.
  • ProCharger’s patented self-contained supercharger system design. No external oil lines required.
  • Race Tuner Kits available from P-1SC-1 to F-2.
  • Dedicated eight-rib supercharger pulley and belt system.
  • Exclusive Z06 aluminum sheetmetal intake manifold replacement (can also be used on LT1 Corvette, separate model).
  • High-efficiency air-to-air intercooler design.
