Here at Corvette Online (and as gearheads in general), we’re all about breaking the mold. The Corvette’s truly seen it all– from OEM restorations to poorly-executed customizations to full-blown race mods. Consequently, it takes not only serious imagination but also serious talent to build a ‘Vette that truly stands out.

This 1960 “Revenant” roadster has a metric ton of both; spotted by ScottieDTV at the Detroit Autorama, this thing looks like the Angel of Death. The pale, cool blend of colors, fluid body lines and deep violet-maroon accents really give it a unique aura. The viewer is seamlessly drawn from front to back, over and across, with no abrupt edges or discontinuity to catch the eye. Ultimately, the flawless custom bodywork perfects the ‘Vette’s already smooth shape.

Because this is a C1 ‘Vette, one would expect it to receive little more than a period-correct restoration or possibly some mild resto-mod touches. We’re pretty glad that the builder decided to go against the grain with this project, and even more so since this was the outcome.

The car’s display also shows off its custom tube chassis and LS7 small-block, sending the message that it drives even better than it looks. And after hearing its smooth, powerful growl as it rolls away at the end of the video, we’re pretty sold on that.

From bumper to bumper, this ‘Vette is a polished and shining example of “custom” done very right. We think this C1 is just the right shade of badass, but no matter which way you slice it the incredible craftsmanship is worthy of praise.
