There is something to be said for custom American muscle cars, especially old-school ones with modern performance components. On August 5th, amcar guide featured one such car – a 1967 custom Camaro powered by the LS7 Chevrolet powerhouse. We must say, this car is one mean looking machine with plenty of power to make anyone jealous.
The car is being dubbed the Vengeance Camaro because of Vengeance Racing’s involvement in engine build. The forged 427 CI LS7 is equipped with a Precision Metalcraft manifold and custom grind cam. The engine is matted to an RPM Motorsports six-speed T56 transmission.
As for the Camaro’s looks, all body and frame work was done by the Garage Zero team, headed by John Lewis. Customizations to the car include a shaved body, custom mirrors, lengthened hood with bumble-bee style nose and a custom spoiler that was modified from a 1970 Cuda. The Camaro features Corvette and modified Mazda RX-7 components, as well as a steering system from an early GTO and a hydraulic system from a Chevy truck.
So what does a ‘67 Camaro with all these custom and modified parts from other vehicles look like? Well take a look for yourself. The Frankenstein style car is anything but freakish looking, and frankly, we‘d have no problem sporting it.
