If you’re doing an LS swap on a budget, there are ways to cut the cost and save yourself some cash. Some of us have more time than money, and building a standalone wiring harness makes sense. There are a lot of good videos on Youtube that will walk you through the process. However, at some point, you will need to add a fuse box and relays in order to power things like injectors, fuel pumps, ignition, and so on. Instead of trying to figure out what you need, BP Automotive has a kit ready to fit your needs.
BP offers two engine management fuse/relay panels. Both products will cover everything from an LT1, 5.7 Vortec, LS1, LS2, LS3, LSA, LS9, 08-14 Vortec engines, and the 99-07 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0-liter engines and like all BP Automotive products, these fuse/relay panels use OEM quality TXL wire and quality Delphi components.
The basic kit is shown on the left and the standard kit is on the right.
The basic kit incorporates a 12-circuit fuse block with six fuses, fuel pump relay, and an ignition relay. An OBD II Diagnostic Port is also included along with a roll of engine harness tape. The standard kit includes a 12-circuit fuse block with ten fuses, fuel pump relay, two fan relays, A/C compressor relay, and ignition relay. Like the basic kit, BP also includes an OBD II diagnostic port and a roll of engine harness tape.
While these harnesses will complete a standalone project, they are not meant for someone that is not familiar with wiring. You need to have a fair amount of wiring experience under your belt to install these kits. These products come labeled and with a general guide for installation to help you along the way. BP also labels inside the covers with a legend of the location of each relay and fuse to simplify installation.
