In a recent feature video, the Texas-based shop unveiled its newest innovation: a top-mount C8 Corvette twin-turbo kit engineered for both street and track dominance. The system goes beyond adding power by transforming how boost is delivered to Chevrolet’s LT2 platform, blending precision fitment, race-quality parts, and long-term reliability.
Top-Mount Engineering
Unlike most underbody turbo kits, which hides everything beneath the car, Boost District’s setup places the turbos prominently on top of the engine bay for easier access, shorter charge paths, and an unmistakable visual appeal. The top-mount configuration also keeps heat away from the transmission and underbody panels while allowing better serviceability, an important factor for serious racers and weekend tuners alike.
From the beginning, Boost District designed the kit with simplicity and strength in mind. It uses precision V-band clamps instead of traditional silicone couplers, minimizing failure points under high boost and high heat. The only coupler in the system connects at the throttle body, while everything else, hot side, cold side, and intercooler piping, locks together with heavy-duty clamps. This eliminates the slipping and swelling problems that plague cheaper turbo systems.
Cooling is handled by a 1,500-horsepower-rated air-to-water intercooler paired with a modular reservoir that fits where the factory airbox once sat. For different uses, whether drag, road course, or street, Boost District offers multiple tank sizes and heat exchanger options to maintain consistent intake temperatures.
Built For Power And Precision
Boost District partnered with Turbosmart to integrate electronic wastegates directly into the turbo housings, allowing faster response and reduced lag. Each kit can be customized to retain the factory catalytic converters, connect to aftermarket high-flows, or go full open-exhaust for track use. For those chasing ultimate style and performance, a race-only “roof vent” exhaust option exits through the rear hatch, evoking McLaren supercar vibes.
The kit is available for both coupe and convertible models with zero loss of trunk space. Boost District’s in-house fabrication team also developed two header designs, equal-length and log-style, to fine-tune performance, sound, and fitment. Both versions are built from high-quality materials and tested under extreme conditions to ensure longevity.
When it came time for dyno testing, the results exceeded expectations. On just 14 pounds of boost, the car produced 1,114 rear-wheel horsepower and 1,124 lb-ft of torque. Taking it to the strip confirmed the setup’s potential with a 9.8-second quarter-mile pass, proving that this system is as functional as it is striking.
