Carlisle Events’ New Website Helps You Plan All The Fun

If you’re like us, you start making plans early for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle event, held in Carlisle, Pennsylvania each August. This year’s event is being held on August 22-25, 2019 and Carlisle Events has created a new, online Corvettes At Carlisle web store that allows enthusiasts to secure their spaces, whether on the showfield, swap meet or car corral. There is also a downloadable APP, available for free download on iTunes and Google Play, to bring all of the necessary information to your fingertips without carrying around, or flipping through the pages of a bulky show program.

New and slightly used parts for all years of Corvettes is available in the manufacturer's midway and the swap meet area.

Many Activities, One Event

Corvettes at Carlisle is always stuffed full of fun and comradery, and this year’s event is sure to please. Besides the Fun Field, Midway Vendors and Swap Meet, a staple of Corvettes at Carlisle for decades, this year’s event also focuses on Corvette’s rich, racing heritage. There will be a special Corvette Race Car Reunion including many Corvette race cars from each era. The display ALSO includes some popular drivers and joining this display will be celebrity race drivers Johnny O’Connell, Stu Hayner, Kenny Wallace Jr., Shawn Hendricks, Boris Said and more!

The burn-out competition is ALWAYS a crowd-pleaser!

There will also be a Corvette Challenge Cars 30th Reunion, which will include numerous examples of the highly-popular Corvette Challenge race cars from the 1988 and 1989 series. As an additional bonus to C4-era enthusiasts, Corvette’s Chief Engineer, Dave McLellan will be on-hand to share tidbits, insights and signing autographs.

This year’s special display will be celebrating 1969 Corvettes of all models, commemorating this year’s 50th Anniversary. This special display features a great array of 1969 Corvettes that will be positioned under their own special display tent throughout the entire weekend.

It’s All About The Driving!

If you prefer powering-up over polishing, there are always plenty of opportunities do drive your Corvette during Corvettes at Carlisle. For the truly power-hungry, Lingenfelter Performance is sponsoring the King of the Auto-X event. Hosted by the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, the King of the Auto-X gives any Corvette owner the opportunity to wring out their Corvette’s handling for a chance to win bragging rights, and a portion of the $1,000 purse.

If you prefer to scuff only the tread and not the sidewalls of your tires, Corvettes at Carlisle has joined with the National Corvette Museum to welcome any enthusiasts who are also planning to attend the NCM’s Anniversary event the weekend following Corvettes at Carlisle. Carlisle Events is offering one-day, Fun Field access to Corvette groups who are planning the drive to Kentucky and want to make the world’s largest all-Corvette show part of the trip. Participants can ask their Caravan Captain to make the necessary arrangements prior to the event and more details can be found HERE.

And of course, if tread is of no concern, you could always remove a few thousand miles during the annual burn-out competition, which occurs at each Corvettes at Carlisle to a packed-out crowd. Not for the faint of heart, the burn-out competition pits aggressive, tire-shredding enthusiasts against each other to try and out-smoke, and encourage viewer participation in the grandstands.
