There is hardly any individual who has not been affected, whether directly or indirectly, with cancer’s insidious devices. Many of those today who are fighting for their lives against this dreaded condition are young individuals who are just starting out at living their lives. Rather than enjoying their youth, having care-free and fun-filled days, they are faced with various therapies in an attempt to roll back or reduce the effects of cancer’s decay.

St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is one entity that is searching to not only treat childhood cancer, but to find ways to eradicate it altogether. The St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, based in Memphis, Tennessee, has helped children fight cancer from all 50 states and around the world. Likewise, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.

Who wouldn’t enjoy having a solid-axle Corvette to take their mind off of life’s challenges, even if it is just coloring between the lines?

Families of cancer patients at St. Jude’s never receive a bill for their services provided. Instead, St. Jude’s relies upon the generous support through donors and others who help share the burden of finding a cure. One such individual is Bubbe Locke. He has decided to use his illustrating talent to help lighten the burden of those individuals and families receiving treatment at St. Jude.

Bubbe has comprised an all-Corvette coloring book titled Color Me Gone that he will be printing and providing to those being served by St. Jude’s along with crayons, to help them momentarily take their minds off their fight for life. Serving customers with his illustrations of their cars for years, Bubbe wants to bring his talent to those within St. Jude’s care, in hopes of bringing a little joy into their lives and hospital rooms.

Bubbe’s interests, and talents, carry over into every generation of Corvette. His illustrations are a playful re-creation of the classic styling that we all love.

Bubbe has opened up a Shopify page to help defer the costs of producing and shipping the books to St. Jude’s. Anyone who would like to help place these coloring books into the hands of young patients can donate through this link. Once printed, the coloring book will have the names and cities of each donor, so that the children of St. Jude’s can see that their support group reaches far outside of the hospital walls.
