Oliver Gavin of Corvette Racing has a great job! With some great perks too. He recently took to Twitter with some coded tweets about a new arrival in his home town of Yardley Hastings, England. Typical drizzly weather couldn’t take the fun out of taking delivery of a spanking new, Artic White Z51 C7 Vette.
We don’t know who picked up the tab for the Vette but if it’s Chevrolet, it’s the least they can do to take care of its winning Corvette Racing team.
It’s also cool to see an American automotive icon with a soggy English country side as a backdrop. Unlike those Manchester United dudes who got finicky about their FREE C7’s, Oliver is tickled to take delivery.
Chevrolet has been very, very good to Gavin and he will be a General Motors ambassador in the Old Country, even though the Chevrolet brand name is to be dead in Europe after 2015. Not to worry though as GM will continue to sell Corvettes and Camaros in the UK.
Chevy inked a mega-buck Manchester United soccer team sponsorship deal before the decision was made to pull plug in Europe, so that leaves celebrity connections, racing victories and other media events to keep the Corvette name in front of the public across the pond.
At any rate, good news for Gavin as he has a spankin’ new Vette to roll around in the UK.
