Chevy finally dropped the online configurator for the 2025 Corvette ZR1 – you know, the one everyone’s been drooling over. But the guys over at Corvette Blogger spotted something weird. There’s a carbon fiber aero trim piece tucked in front of the front wheels that nobody’s ever seen before along with a mystery cooler behind the grille, hinting at the long-rumored Corvette Zora.
Here’s the kicker: it’s been showing up on every ZR1 in the configurator, even the base model, without any of the fancy aero packages or carbon fiber options. And it’s definitely not in any of the official press photos or spy shots we’ve seen so far.
Chevrolet even reached out to Corvette Blogger, and to their surprise, they told them it was an error. They said they’d rather leave the configurator up and running than take it down to fix such a small thing. But at the time of writing this article, the two anomalies have been removed. We cannot seem to duplicate this “error”, regardless of what options we pick. further fueling the mystery.
There is one more mysterious piece that snuck into the configurator along with this mysterious carbon fiber trim: a non-ZR1 cooler behind the grille. this cooler can only be seen on the hybrid E-Ray model, which further adds to the Zora speculation. Corvette’s head honcho, Tadge Juechter, said the ZR1 would be the most expensive C8, which seemed to kill the Zora rumors. But then, spy shots keep popping up of camouflaged C8s with these pieces testing at places like the Nürburgring.
This all feeds into the long-running rumors about an even more insane and mythical Corvette Zora. The long speculated final big-dog C8 corvette before the C9 generation debuts in a couple of years. We’ve all heard the whispers about the Zora: all-wheel drive, hybrid power for the front wheels from the E-Ray, and the ZR1’s twin-turbo LT7 engine. This recipe would equate to a Corvette with over 1,250 horsepower and the traction of all four massive tires.
What do you Think?
So, is this mystery carbon fiber aero and cooler a genuine error? A sneaky hint from Chevrolet? Or is it just wishful thinking from Corvette fans? Nobody knows for sure. But it’s definitely added fuel to the fire, and it has everyone wondering what else the Corvette team at Chevrolet has up its sleeve for the C8 Corvette.
