We brought you the story about Hertz Car Rentals purchasing one hundred Z06 Corvettes to celebrate their 100th Anniversary. All of the cars were individually serialized and all the cars featured a black and yellow paint scheme with the same treatment flowing into the interior. Special badging was embroidered into the interior surfaces to denote the cars’ special designation.
We recently ran across three of these beauties for sale at our local Hertz location in Orlando, Florida. Each one carries the same colors and call-signs, but the mileage varied, ranging from just under seven thousand to seventeen thousand miles. Each of the cars are equally equipped, so there wouldn’t be any variation in the options list. Coincidentally, there isn’t any variance in the asking price of each of the cars either.
All the cars feature the 650 horsepower LT4 engine, eight-speed, paddle-shifted automatic transmissions, and special Hertz badging denoting their special calling.
This isn’t the first time that Hertz has chosen Corvettes as a special transportation treat for those with the coin to make their trip special. We recently covered this midyear that had a similar mission, hauling the jet-set around the hills and slopes of the Rockies.
We knew that these cars were going to be coming up for sale soon through the Hertz Car Sales division, but we didn’t expect to see THREE of these beauties sitting on the lot, waiting for their next owners. We knew that these cars were dispersed throughout the Hertz network, in select cities throughout the United States. It appears that Orlando was a pretty good market for renting out these high-powered Hertz cars to those who were visiting the town’s attractions.
The cars have been prepped and are ready for their next owners.
Now, Orlando has turned into a perfect opportunity to obtain your very own, unique 2019 Z06 Corvette. And while you are there picking up your car, you could also use the time to do a little sight-seeing as well! Then you’ll get to cap off the entire trip with a drive home in your new Z06, or you could even take the Amtrak Auto-Train if you live in the Northeast and wanted to keep the mileage low. Either way, we don’t know which would be best, the vacation, or trip home!
