New from Improved Racing – an oil cooler with a built-in thermostat for the C7 Corvette. This thermostat is designed to meet the needs of track usage. See more details below.
Official Release:
Improved Racing has just released the first oil cooler adapter with a built-in thermostat for the C7 Corvette.
“The C7’s factory water-to-oil heat exchanger is acceptable for street use, but insufficient for track or performance use,” says the company’s President and lead engineer, Michael Ihns.
He says replacing the factory unit with a traditional air-to-oil cooler can reduce both oil and coolant temps at the track. “But without a thermostat,” he says, “you risk over-cooling the oil on the street and will experience long engine oil warm-up times, resulting in excess engine wear.”
The thermostatic adapter is available in 180°F and 212°F minimum temperature ratings. It features an auxiliary port that can be used for a sensor, a turbocharger oil supply line, or an oil accumulator with the company’s optional adapter fittings.
Features:
- Reduces both oil and coolant temperatures
- Available in 180º and 212º minimum temperature ratings
