Things just keep getting weirder for the Mosler Raptor GTR, as in the last few days since we introduced you to the American supercar and its super-bizarre music, a real-life soap opera has begun to unfold around the car, the company, the singer, and even Matt Farah of The Car Show.
Jalopnik has the whole scoop on all the drama, and reports that it all centers around one man: a gent named Todd Wagner, who was at one point the “Chief Engineer” of Mosler Automotive. Jalopnik says that during their research they found that the Raptor GTR you see in the video was built by Mosler Automotive, and sold to Wagner who had left the company a few years before its completion, and in reality Mosler has no plans to produce any more of them. They also report that Wagner was marketing the car for his own company under a “distribution agreement” with Mosler, which Mosler claims doesn’t exist. Told you things were getting weird, and we haven’t even talked about the video yet.
The ill-fated “Feel My Fire” video by Abby Cubey that was quickly removed from YouTube because of the tidal wave of bad press that it deservingly received, was in fact an attempt by Cubey’s alleged lover to help elevate her singing career; none other than Mr. Wagner himself. This very plausible theory was put forth to Jalopnik by Wagner’s ex-wife.
Wow, you just can’t make this stuff up. All of that and we didn’t even get to how Matt Farah was involved. There are still a ton of other details left in this melodrama that we just can’t get to in a short news piece, so if you want the full story, check out Jalopnik’s full report. The long and short of it is that if you were dreaming of one day owning your very own 800 HP, twin-turbo LS7 powered Raptor GTR, sadly, you can pretty much forget about it.
