Stolen Corvettes from Factory Recovered And Suspect Arrested

Pulling off a heist involving multiple brand-new sports cars may sound nuts. However, one group allegedly attempted to steal eight Corvettes at Corvette’s one-and-only manufacturing plant in Kentucky.

As their plan quickly unraveled, the Bowling Green police department was present and successfully recovered all the stolen Corvettes. Reports confirmed that eight Chevrolet Corvettes recently vanished from the GM Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky, and the good thing is that Local authorities acted swiftly.

The Bowling Green Police Department, receiving assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan, managed to intercept and recover all eight cars while they were apparently being moved out of the area, according to local outlet WBKO.

Video captured by SoKy Citizen News even showed police surrounding one of the recovered cars – a hard-to-miss Sebring Orange Corvette Z06 coupe. Police arrested one individual over the weekend in connection with the theft: 21-year-old Deantae Walker, reportedly from Michigan.

Walker now faces serious charges, including receiving stolen property valued at $10,000 or more, fleeing or evading police, and resisting arrest. Authorities stressed that the investigation continues as they work to identify other individuals potentially involved in the scheme.

The theft represented a huge potential loss, highlighting the value of these performance cars. Considering the base price of a 2025 Corvette nears $70,000, and highly optioned models or Z06 variants easily surpass $100,000, the total value of the eight stolen Corvettes likely ranges from over half a million dollars to possibly more than $1 million. Really huge numbers if they didn’t recover all the stolen vehicles.

This Corvette incident follows other recent high-profile thefts targeting valuable GM vehicles. Authorities previously arrested a suspect in Michigan for allegedly stealing Cadillac Escalade-Vs, retagging them with cloned VIN numbers, and selling them across state lines.

Late last year, multiple early-production electric Cadillac Escalade IQs were also stolen from a GM lot in Warren, Michigan, though that attempt was partly foiled when one SUV became comically stuck trying to drive over a security barrier.

While car thefts remain a persistent issue, the quick recovery of all eight Corvettes, in this case, brings a successful resolution to a potentially massive loss directly from the factory floor. Thanks to the efforts of the Bowling Green police department. They managed to help Chevrolet get some big losses. At the moment, the Bowling Green police department is looking continuously into this case so they can bring everyone involved to justice.
