Street Hunter USA Unveils New C8 Corvette Widebody Kit

The aftermarket is foaming at the mouth to get its hands on the new Chevrolet Corvette, and for a good reason. This car is unlike anything that we have ever seen before. The C8 is an exciting  mid-engine design, with V8 power, and a unique style not only for a Corvette but for just about every American car produced. When you combine all of these aspects into one package that comes in under the $60,000 mark, it’s hard not to get enthusiastic about this car hitting the market.

We have already seen numerous renderings of the C8 floating around the internet. While most of these drawings look fantastic, they are just an extension of someone’s imagination and are unlikely to hit the market any time soon. After all, it was just a week or so ago that the cars were fired back up on the assembly line getting ready to make their way to a new home. So how could any company start to design parts and pieces for this new machine? It’s safe to say that even though the aftermarket didn’t have a C8 in their possession, that was not going to stop some of  them from working on new products. One such company is Street Hunter, USA.

While at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in 2019, the guys at Street Hunter decided to take a look and some measurements on the C8 and C8.R Corvette. With just the recorded data and 3D modeling, the team is working on what appears to be a killer widebody kit. The GT3 racecars inspired the design of this kit, and it shows. Even the wing is comparable to the C8.R racer from GM.

This body kit offers hard angles that complement the body lines of the new Corvette while providing wider fenders, rear quarter panels, rear diffuser, race wing, and nose modifications. Unlike typical body kits, the new C8 package from Street Hunter does not include side skirts. And honestly, we didn’t even notice because the rendering looks perfect. While side skirts often give a car a more aggressive look, they sacrifice clearance below the rockers.

While we are told in the video that the design might change, it will remain close to the 3D rendering. After Street Hunter takes delivery of its C8 Corvette, it will be up to 4 months before the kit is complete. However, it’s evident that these guys have done their homework and are well on the way to building one killer looking mid-engine Corvette.
