If there ever was a story about the underdog ‘Merican taking on the world, the C8 Corvette could easily serve as the star— especially after its decisive win at Daytona just a few weeks ago. But for this story, the media spotlight was diverted to another star with a similar story.
Many know Sylvester Stallone either as a struggling fighter trying to win bouts while finding his way in life, or as a “retired” veteran who just wants to be left alone. Either way, the scenes changed entirely when Sly headed to Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Murfreesboro to take delivery of his new C8 Corvette.
You can bet he didn’t need to fight his way through the dealership, although, Bo Trivett, the dealership’s owner, does appear to have hopes of sparring with Sly. The car in question is this Rapid Blue 2021 C8 Corvette convertible. This isn’t the Champ’s first drop-top Corvette, as he has been seen roving around Tinseltown in a high-powered, super-red, big-block powered 1968 Corvette on occasion.
Bo and his wife Jennifer took the opportunity to hand the keys over to Stallone and the dealership shared the experience on their Facebook page. Sly reportedly lives in Florida now and will likely be seen driving this Rapid Blue drop-top and soaking in the sun in the Sunshine state. Whether you best remember him as “Rambo” or “Rocky Balboa,” there’s no denying that Sly has earned the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of his new C8. We hope he enjoys it well, and to take a phrase from an earlier star, he uses it to “See the U.S.A. in his Chevrolet!”
