The Cure For The Common Mass Air Sensor: JMS Mass Air Modifier

If you’ve ever been to the doctor for a medical condition, he or she has probably given you a prescription to help your symptoms. Let’s say you take the prescribed medication and it causes problem — so your doctor gives you a second prescription to take with the first. You go back with yet another complication … they might give you a third medication. If he did, this prescription would be given due to the side effects of the second medication, that was caused by the first prescription. Confused yet? This is exactly what can happen when you start modifying a vehicle. You change a camshaft, add a supercharger … even an aftermarket cold air setup can wreak havoc on your tune and drivability and one problem can lead to another.

Lucky for us, there are companies out there like JMS Chip & Performance that create cures for some of these automotive ailments.

A mass air sensor is just another tool for proper engine operation — the problem is when you start modifying an engine, it can change the signal and give the engine the wrong information. A result of this could be a rich condition; another could be noise in the signal. Some tuners will completely remove the the mass air sensor all together and then tune around it. This will entail a lot more tuning, time, and ultimately the loss of a powerful tool. By simply plugging in the Mass Air Modifier you can eliminate all these problems while keeping you mass air sensor.

According to JMS: The Mass Air Modifier is the only product that can both filter and scale your mass air signal.

Scaling allows you to remove or add fuel by moving the MAF signal up or down and give you fine tuning adjustments without a laptop. This unit has up to 16 different filter settings, and an adjustable filter window for idle and cruise speeds. These adjustments will eliminate “pegging” and the results will be a clean, filtered mass air signal that will improve the way your vehicle operates and preforms.

The Mass Air Modifier is really easy to install and operate: it simply plugs into your existing mass air sensor and everything that you need is included. All of the electronics are in a compact aluminum case with integrated mounting tabs. Hook up the remaining wires and you’re ready to go. Adjustments are easily made with the dip switches and a rotary dial and the changes happen in real-time.

If your tuner is having problems with your mass air sensor, there is help. Don’t remove it, filter it instead by using the JMS Mass Air Modifier.
