Topo, the wide-body guru from Mafia Customs has fabricated fabulous flares for a variety of late model performance cars, and now according to Autoblog, the master metal fabricator has set his sights on the 2nd Generation CTS-V. Topo’s skill in taking stock performance and luxury cars and giving them the fat-fender treatment have made him a living legend among many circles of automotive enthusiasts.
According to Autoblog’s Rob Einaudi, Topo is currently working on creating an extreme stretched-fender 2011 CTS-V for D3, and the car will be on display at GM’s booth at the forthcoming 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Topo sent Einaudi some pics of the wide-body CTS-V, as well as several other SEMA projects, including a 5th Gen Camaro convertible he is doing for Forgiato. Judging from the pics, the CTS-V’s fenders should be able to swallow some pretty wide tires once the project is completed.
We may not be fans of 24-inch rims, but fitting wider meats on a performance car is always a good thing in our book. We’re personally looking forward to checking out the finished project in person at this year’s SEMA show, to see just how well the CTS-V can pull off the wide-body look.
