Eluding the police is never a good idea. It rarely worked out in the olden days and now with modern, military-derived police technology it will NEVER work out for the person involved in “felony in flight” We repeat, you will not get away.
Check out this video from the Fresno Bee showing a guy who thought otherwise. Apparently, police saw two vehicles preparing to drag race around midnight. When one of the racers saw the officers, he smiled at them and took off, ultimately reaching speeds up to 130 MPH.
Hey GTO dude, you can’t outrun the ‘Bird in the sky. Won’t happen. The military-issue camera technology sees your heat trail and the aircraft (radioing ahead) will follow you back to your Mom’s house. Ooops, didn’t think of that.
We kind of like that long-gone Pontiac is representin’ here. Good to know there are still Ponchos on the road stirring up trouble, but that’s the only thing with a happy ending on this video.
Meanwhile, all the cop cars in town are now circled around the Goat’s house. Just think of sound of all those cop cars roaring around the homestead and then think of the sound coming out of Momma’s mouth when she’s awakened late at night by a swarm of the boys in blue and a knock at the door.
Good stuff to gawk at for sure, but again, there ain’t no way out. Not to mention, with all that’s been in the news over the past year or so, it’s pretty clear that any encounter with law enforcement has the potential to go bad very quickly, and the cops aren’t the ones it ends badly for.
In this case, we have as close to a happy ending as these things get – the driver was arrested, cited for reckless driving, and his car was impounded for 30 days.
