We came across this twin turbo LSX swapped beast on 1320’s Youtube channel and, well, were in awe (as was 1320, obviously). We talked to the owner, Clark Rosenstengel, over Facebook to get a little more information on the build.
Turns out, this 2010 Camaro with a 427 cubic inch LSX is Clark’s second car that has been built by Steve Morris. It’s pushing 26 pounds of boost and making roughly 1,400 to 1,500 horsepower to the wheels (2,075 horsepower on the engine dyno). All that horsepower adds up to quarter mile times consistently in the 7s and, most recently, a 7.80 second quarter mile pass.
Clark told us that the fifth-gen Camaro sports Brodix heads, Holley fuel injection, and a Rossler 210 promo 400 transmission with a transbrake and Gear Vendors over drive box. Clark installed all of the COPO suspension himself and Chubby Kid Street Cars in Milwaukee, Wisconsin built and installed the 6.50 cert roll cage. With complete interior and even air conditioning, this thing weighs in at about 4,000lbs.
So far, the Camaro’s best quarter mile time was 7.80 seconds at 177 mph, a feat that the car replicates in the video moments before cracking one of the cylinder heads. We’d say this is quite an amazing car; from the insane-sized turbos under the hood to that classy stock interior– it’s definitely not the kind of drag car you come across everyday, or should we maybe even say street car?
