Less than 1,400 Cadillac CTS-V wagons were produced from 2011-2013, and this 2013 example just happens to be transformed into a high-performance contender by the guys over at Advanced Modern Performance (AMP). It weighs more than 4,000 pounds, makes more than 800 horsepower at the rear wheels, and looks as if it slays Dodge Demons and McLaren supercars with ease in the half-mile at the wannaGOFAST half-mile racing series.
The Caddy is so fast, in fact, that it can be seen crossing the half-mile mark at nearly 170 mph. To put that half-mile speed into context, a stock C7 Z06 – which is nearly 700 pounds lighter, but down 150 horsepower compared to this particular CTS-V wagon – completed the half-mile at around 160 mph.
In the video above, the owner comments that his ’13 CTS-V wagon features a handful of bolt-ons which motivate his heavy Caddy into supercar territory numbers. It features your typical heads, cam and intake modifications, along with a blend of E85 for fuel and methanol to help cool those boost temperatures. “Out of all of the cars I’ve owned, this one of is the most fun,” the owner said.
He affirms that the car is subjected to all sorts of racing events; drag racing, quarter- and eighth-mile racing, open road racing, as well as the half-mile event from the video. Clearly, this 4,000 pound, 800 rear-wheel horsepower wagon is putting in the work the owner is looking for. It’s enough to keep up with cars like a Dodge Demon, a modified five-liter Mustang GT and a McLaren MP4-12C!
