While many dealerships across the nation are still waiting to fulfill the thousands of orders placed for the all-new sixth-generation Camaro, some individuals have been lucky enough to receive a model from the first batch of the brand new musclecar.
One of those individuals is Russ Harrison, who recently received his brand new ’16 Camaro.
With only 200 miles on the odometer and having only owned the car for less than four days, Harrison immediately brought his all-new Camaro to the guys at B&R Performance in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to receive the first of many extensive modifications planned for the new LT1-powered beast. Through collaborative efforts of Harrison, along with B&R Performance and well-known LS tuners Calibrated By Karger, the car received an all-new high-performance solution developed for the latest Camaro platform.
Since there are no aftermarket performance parts available for the all-new Camaro, B&R Performance teamed up with Nitrous Express to utilize the company’s 150 shot nitrous kit for the C7 Corvette, as well as the tuning calibration provided by Calibrations by Karger. The kit has been modified to allow the use of a standalone fuel cell for nitrous enrichment, which has been tuned for the use of higher-octane fuel to prevent detonation in the all-new high-compression direct-injected LT1 engine.
With a mid 10-second quarter mile time and a trap speed of almost 130 mph, we’re dying to see what’s next for this brand-new Camaro SS. Sarah Karger chimes in with, “Russ and the crew at B&R plan to find and reset the limits in this new architecture. At this point, we plan to increase the efficiency of the LT1 with a ported cylinder head and camshaft package, along with the nitrous kit to push the car into single digit territory.”
B&R Performance, along with the help of Calibrated by Karger, have huge plans to develop the first aftermarket performance package available for the all-new sixth-gen Camaro. The company plans to use test data derived from their two sixth-generation Camaro test beds to help in development of their Fireball Edition Camaro which will be a package that delivers supercar performance out of GM’s most recent pony car offering.
Follow along as we receive updates from B&R Performance and Calibrated by Karger on the all-new Camaro’s performance.
