Not too long ago, we shared with you that Hennessey Performance will be selling its first HPE650 equipped 2016 Camaro SS next month in February. However, an event such as that hasn’t stopped the good ole Texas boys from taking on other projects, like the one in the video above.

The company’s latest endeavors have shifted to the limited production of HPE500 equipped sixth-gen Camaros, which it plans to only produce, you guessed it, 500 models for the 2016 model year.
If you’re not exactly familiar with what the HPE500 Upgrade is, then we’ll fill in the blanks.
For starters, the HPE500 upgrade is compatible with all 2016 Camaro SS models and trims, including both manual and automatic transmissions. For the go-fast goodies, you can expect Hennessey to throw a modest amount of bolt-ons at your LT1 powered Camaro. A full stainless steel exhaust system, including 1.75-inch long-tube headers and high-flow catalytic converters, starts the first round of modifications off smoothly. Next up is a high-flow air filter element which replaces the factory one, followed by a complete HPE engine management upgrade and chassis dyno calibration. The results? A proper 465.70 horsepower and 457.30 lb-ft of torque at the rear-wheels.
With the performance oriented components out of the way, Hennessey aides reliability with a complete gasket and fluid change (the ones that are necessary for the installation), including an oil and filter change using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic oil. Heck, the guys will even throw a half of a tank of Shell V-Power Nitro+ 93-octane gasoline in your HPE500 Camaro for the ride home.
