How often do we see the almighty LS engine swapped into non-LS cars? Pretty often, actually. But – how often do we see an import with an LS swap hit the track surface against a true and original LS equipped car?

The guys over at 5252RPM.com posted up this video to YouTube of a 240SX with a stout iron 6.0L block backed with a T-56 against an automatic GTO, also packin’ a 6.0L at St. Thomas Raceway Park in Sparta, Ontario. In this particular run, they were given the okay to run old-school street race style, and take off at the drop of the starter’s arms between the two lanes.

In the burnout box, the Goat and the Import spin the tires, both creating a wall of smoke as the LS engines in both roar. They stage and wait for the starter to drop his arms. From the get-go, it’s a close race, and neither car pulls too far on the other. In the end, it’s the light-weight 240SX that takes the win with a 11.16 at 124 MPH over the GTO’s 11.78 at 114 MPH.

Regardless of whatever body an LS resides within, we will always be willing to watch one go down the track!
