Many enthusiasts have attended the world-famous Corvettes at Carlisle event, held every August in Carlisle Pennsylvania, but not all who walk through the gates know of the passion for their fellow marque that was shared by the show’s owners. Chip Miller and Bill Miller II (no relation) started the Carlisle event in 1974, when they realized the enthusiasm that they, and many other enthusiasts shared, needed a venue where they all could celebrate Corvettes of all years and models.

Due to their hard work, the show grew and became what is now known as Carlisle Events. They purchased the fairgrounds where many brand and specific make/model events are held each year and they set out to give enthusiasts a family-friendly venue for car guys of all ages. As the events grew in size and their responsibilities increased exponentially, they would still be found sharing the showfield with the many attendees. They were admired and loved for their commitment to those folks who helped share the joy of their cars.

Chip, along with friend Bill Miller II, helped start Carlisle Events by sharing his passion for cars with like-minded enthusiasts.

Sadly, in 2004, one of the founding fathers of Carlisle, Chip Miller, succumbed to a rare disease known as Amyloidosis. Little was known about the disease and those affected will greatly benefit from early detection. The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF) was formed in Chip’s honor with the mission of increasing awareness of this disease and seeking to help find a cure. To raise funds for research and to help local charities, the CMAF holds various events and raffles, with the proceeds going directly to forwarding research and helping others.

Many who have attended Carlisle events in the past will remember the numerous car giveaways that were held at each event. This year, the CMAF has joined with Corvettes at Carlisle 2018 (August 23-26, 2018) to re-live the excitement of winning a Corvette through the CMAF’s Corvette Giveaway. Thanks to long-standing relationships within the hobby, this year the CMAF is able to join forces with Carlisle Events and award one lucky person with a brand-new 2019 Corvette Stingray, delivered through Kerbeck Corvette.

One lucky winner will be driving a 2019 Corvette Stingray if their ticket is drawn as the winning number on August 25th.

Tickets are $100 and are being sold through the Lancaster County Corvette Club and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets can also be ordered by downloading the raffle form,  by calling the CMAF directly at 717-243-7855 (x-113) or in-person at Corvettes at Carlisle event in August. The winning numbers will be pulled at random August 25th and the winner will be notified and subsequently recognized at the Corvettes at Carlisle event.
