Another Holley LS Fest West has come and gone, which means another cruise through the Valley of Fire state park is also behind us. As Editor here at LSX Mag, Valley Of Fire Cruise 2023 was my first to be involved with, and to say that it was one of the most stunning landscapes I’ve seen in person would be an understatement. Unfortunately, my first experience on this beautiful cruise was in a quiet rental car. Next year I plan on enjoying the drive in something louder, more powerful, and more fun. Regardless, we had a great time with everyone who attended this fun event. We appreciate the continued support and participation from our fellow LS/LT enthusiasts.

This tradition of taking some time to get out on the road and chill with other enthusiasts before the craziness of LS Fest West kicks off is something people look forward to. Aside from the beautiful scenery and twisty roads throughout the park, I was impressed by the number of people joining us that had participated in at least one of the previous LSX Valley Of Fire Cruises. This year, a great turnout gave us a mix of modern muscle cars, classics, restomods, trucks, and Corvettes. Seeing our motorcade winding through the valley was just as cool as the amazing rock formations along the route.

Once we entered the valley through the West gate, our train of automobiles made its way to the opposite end of the park to the East entrance before looping back to stop at the Seven Sisters rock formation. The park is a vast area that we could have driven until dark. But we wanted time to socialize with the participants and capture their rides on camera. Being in the area during the waning hours of the day really brings out all of the colors in the rock. The shades of red and brown mixed with off-white layers made a perfect backdrop at sunset.
While we love getting the opportunity to photograph the participants’ vehicles in this beautiful setting each year, having time to talk about the cars and trucks with the owners in a remote location away from the city’s hustle is one of the best things about the Valley Of Fire Cruise.

Meeting new people that share the same passion for automobiles as we do never gets old, and we look forward to seeing many new participants as well as some familiar faces at next year’s event. So let’s keep the tradition of this gathering alive and well. If you haven’t attended, plan to come a day early and join us in 2024. You’ll be in for a treat.
