Sometimes, a personal project turns into a marketable product – when Shawn Gibson got it in his head to swap a modern LS powerplant into a Chevy C10 pickup, he discovered that it wasn’t going to be as dead-simple as he first thought. There weren’t a lot of options when it came to headers, but fortunately the company with his name on the front door just happened to have the resources to knock out a set of long-tube headers specifically for this application.
Now, Gibson Performance Exhaust is offering them for sale in two finishes – natural stainless steel, or with a high-temperature-resistant ceramic coating. They’re made from heavy gauge stainless steel tubing with 3/8-inch thick flanges for a tight seal to the heads, and the oversized exhaust ports and 1 3/4-inch diameter primary tubes are tuned for added horsepower. They’ll fit C10 full-sized pickups from 1963 to 1987, and they are backed by Gibson’s limited lifetime warranty.
Best of all, they’re bargain priced – look around at stainless headers of similar quality and you’ll find four-digit price tags are the rule, but the suggested retail for these pipes is just $631.96 for natural finish, and $705.31 for the ceramic-coated headers.
