6th Gen Camaro Render from Camaro6.com – How Close to the Real Deal?

A member on Camaro6.com has posted some very cool renderings and video fly-by animations of Chevy’s future pony car. Based heavily off camo’d spy shots, they’re purely speculation at this point but probably pretty close to the real deal.

Many subtle tweaks. Softer hood with creased edges, quad headlamps and Z/28 style running lights

The 6th gen Camaro mechanical and platform details are pretty well know at this point. The 5th Gen’s Zeta platform is ditched for Alpha, 500 pounds lighter, built in Detroit alongside Caddy ATS, and probably a turbo 4 cylinder mill added to carryover powertrain line up. Current logic says a smaller Camaro is an easier sale overseas with an added bonus of a better power to weight ratio for us performance folk. So it’s a win-win for everybody.

What wasn’t so clear was how Chevy was going to refresh the styling, and that’s where this Camaro6.com render comes in handy. The current Camaro is a real looker and is going to be a tough act to follow. Expect a very evolutionary design language update. The Camaro has been a sales champ since it was introduced in 2010 and based on spy shots and now these renders, Chevy probably won’t want to veer too far away from the proven formula.

Square shoulders remain with softened edges. With all the taillight controversy Chevy has had with the C7, we wonder if Verano-esque eyebrows are accurate.

The Camaro6.com pics show a smaller, somewhat curvier car with darn near identical lines to the current model. The most notable change from looking at these renderings is an upswept side rear quarter window. It make us a little concerned because the snug greenhouse on the current car has been a sore spot among critics and would-be buyers. From the renderings, the side windows look even smaller than current model. Hopefully that is one aspect of the renders that is not spot on.

Other than that, the car looks good and the 3-D models give a good idea of what might be coming soon to a Chevrolet dealer near you. Kudos to Camaro6.com member Chazcron for the nice render and vids – don’t miss the rest of the images there!

Looks good with deeper accent line above rockers. Smaller greenhouse and upswept window headed in wrong direction?
