Corvette Racing Borrows a C7.R For Six Hour Endurance

b1After recovering from an incident that occurred during qualifying at last weekend’s 24 Hours Of Le Mans, Corvette Racing has decided to borrow the only other C7.R chassis available. Following the accident that damaged the Corvette at Le Mans, the car was shipped to the Pratt & Miller Engineering shop in Michigan. Unfortunately, the damage was too severe to correct before this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, in Watkins Glen, New York.

Corvette Racing’s No. 3 will make its appearance this Sunday at Watkin’s Glen International. The team is putting in an amazing amount of effort to get the car ready with a six-point lead in The Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup. By starting the Sahlen’s Six Hours and earning the minimum four points, the #3 Corvette will obtain at least a tie for the GTLM lead entering the 10-hour Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda at Road Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 3. This is the fourth and final round of the Patrón Endurance Cup.

Piloting the borrowed C7.R chassis will be Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen. “The #3 crew has put in a tremendous effort to get our Corvette ready for this weekend,” Garcia said. He then added, “We want to repay them with a strong showing and the lead in the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup. Le Mans obviously was a disappointment, but congratulations go to Oliver, Tommy and Jordan.”

Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner will be driving the same car that took them and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype driver Jordan Taylor to the GTE Pro class victory at Le Mans last weekend. Typically it’s a close battle in the GTLM Class, and with the #3 team having put in the time to prepare and having secured their replacement we anticipate a normal race.

Bridgett Davis

Growing up in Greenwood, Indiana a short distance from the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, my dad would take me to local car shows and events. Through this I gained my passion. Along with cars, I have always loved photography, writing, and graphic arts. However when attending college I did not pursue my passions. I played it safe and majored in business and marketing. After a few years in this field I determined this was not for me and began to pursue a writing and photography career. Landing me here with Power Automedia. I am also now the business owner of Bridgett's Toxic Creations. Specializing in automobile showboards, custom license plates, logos, and website headers. Living and breathing the Mustang life everyday in everyway. To be able to work in my field of passion is amazing and fun experience everyday. The best part is sharing a common passion with others.
