Recently, we’ve been coming across a lot of Craigslist ads and YouTube videos that show some pretty awesome 5.3 liter V8 swapped cars: like this video of a ’71 Chevelle which has a turbocharged 5.3 liter V8 swapped into it. Or this find Craigslist, a ’64 Coupe de Ville with a naturally aspirated 5.3 liter Vortec V8 from an ’03 Silverado swap. Continuing what seems like the starting of a tradition here, we’re bringing you a 1969 Pontiac GTO we found on Craigslist. And just like the two vehicles above, it too has a 5.3 liter Vortec V8 swapped into it, this one being from an ’01 truck.
The seller explains in the ad that this particular Pontiac is a genuine GTO, not a LeMans model or an actual Judge. The original engine has been replaced with a 5.3 liter Vortec V8 from a 2001 Chevy truck, and utilizes an OEM LS1 intake manifold. In the remainder of the ad (before the we get into the parts list) the seller explains they had spent over $4,000 finishing up the final details on the car at Outlaw Rods and Custom which is located in Norfolk, Virginia.
The vehicle was also tested for street use after tuning it, and small details which are necessary for having a road-worthy vehicle have also been changed or fixed. The seller’s parts list is a tad long, so we’ll list some of the highlights. You can always check out the add for this ’69 Pontiac GTO for yourself, too.
