Thanks to a story from our friends over at CorvetteBlogger, we have four images of General Motor’s CEO Mary Barra’s 2015 Black Corvette Z06 rolling off the Bowling Green assembly line where all Corvettes come to life. Courtesy of the UAW Local 2164 workers, Barra will be piloting her brand new ride upon shipment of the Z06 Convertible to the GM headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.
Barra’s new ride puts out an impressive 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, and has been fitted with both the Z07 Performance Package and the new eight-speed automatic gearbox. The car is sporting gloss-black aluminum wheels with only an accent of color via the yellow Brembo brake calipers, and the Chief Executive Officer’s Z06 also includes the Stage 1 aerodynamics package gauging by the rear spoiler.
The front spoiler will be installed upon arrival in Detroit, where the dealer completes the job. We’re assuming this is just a “best practices” sort of thing to avoid any damage or scuffing during delivery.
The LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8 Z06 Convertible also includes direct injection, continuously variable valve timing, and Active Fuel Management just like the Corvette Stingray; we know that Barra will be absolutely beside herself with the new car. We are also rather happy to see that GM’s CEO decided to go with the new Z06 when she literally had the choice to drive any vehicle in the GM lineup. We can imagine many people of her position would opt for something more along the Cadillac line, but we say, “Good choice!”
