When it comes to new performance products for the automotive aftermarket, testing is key. But while some companies do their product testing on their own, Hendrick Automotive Group recently teamed up with Chevrolet to put their new ZL1 suspension components through a full spectrum of tests designed by GM. Check out some of Hendrick’s products in action in the video from The Block above.
Testing new products can range from dyno to road tests but the tests that Hendrick recently ran went above and beyond any of that. In order to find out just how their products would work on the modern Camaro ZL1, Hendrick teamed up with Director of Performance Variants and Performance Parts for Chevrolet, Ed Piatek to test their new suspension products and Goodyear F1 tires just like all GM performance vehicles are tested- with a full array of road course, autocross and drag strip runs.
With the help of Hendrick test drivers Andy Pilgrim and Erin Evernham, Hendrick dialed in their components in the quarter mile as well as for more streetable applications all under the watchful eyes of skilled staff from both companies. While we don’t know for sure what Hendrick could be coming out with soon, with tests like these we know it’s going to be good.
