In the world of aftermarket performance, forced induction has been referred to as the ‘best bang for your buck’ regarding horsepower gains – and its hard to disagree with that statement.

Magnuson Superchargers has provided enthusiasts with high-performance forced induction solutions for more than 30 years, and its latest package for the ’14+ C7 Corvette makes some respectable gains.

140_2_GRCorvetteforum.com member Patrick_G put his recently purchased a Magnuson Heartbeat TVS 2300 Supercharger kit to test on his completely stock ’16 C7 Corvette Stingray. Patrick set out to share with fellow Corvette enthusiasts who are considering a roots-style TVS supercharger how much additional horsepower can be obtained from the upgrade. Apart from the TVS 2300 supercharger kit mentioned above, the only other modification performed was a matching 93 octane rated tuning calibration.

The result? An impressive 562 rear-wheel horsepower and 591 lb-ft of torque. As Patrick mentions, this is on a completely stock C7 Stingray, using Magnuson's supplied pulley and hardware.

gallery_12_1_403908grWith so much power to be made, we hit up Matt Hately at Magnusuon to give us the low down on their superchargers. He says, “We wanted to build a supercharger for that guy that takes his car to a road course on a hot July day when it’s 105 degrees and drives the crap out of it, then takes it to a flying mile event the weekend after. The Heartbeat makes about 40 more rear-wheel horsepower than our traditional superchargers at the same level of boost.”

In the forum thread, Patrick says, “So basically, I have Z06 power and torque for $7995, plus the cost of installation and a tune. No other mods needed.” Sounds like a cool solution for those of us who can’t cough up enough coin for the full-on Chevy supercar.

The power you gain for the price you pay is a true testament to the capability of Magnuson superchargers, and it shows.
