Video: Fred Watson’s FEAR Monaro Tears It Up!

Australia is known for many things: kangaroos, the Outback, Kylie Minogue, and men with “Crocodile” in their names. Thanks to the internet, they’re also quickly becoming known as the country for the most wicked burnouts and the V8 Holdens they perform them in.

We have our own versions of both burnouts and Holdens here in America. The latter of which wore Pontiac emblems between their split grilles in the form of the GTO and G8. Oh yeah, there’s the Caprice PPV too but that’s besides the point.

We don’t live in Australia. Hell, we don’t live anywhere close to Australia. So we have to get creative and get all of our dosage of Holdenism through the internet. YouTube, to be more precise. That’s just where we found this video of Fred Watson and his insanely badass and yet bewildering Monaro.

One look at this thing, and you’ll immediately assume that he swapped in a blown big-block between the fenders. Except you would only be half-right. It’s definitely supercharged all right, but under that hood is our favorite alloy mill.

Unfortunately, we searched high and low all over the internet including Australian magazines and couldn’t come up with any definite specs on Watson’s Holden. What we do know however, is that this thing has gone through several changes over the years. It was originally black, than a two-tone orange and black, and now it’s this sort of gunmetal gray color. We think it looks amazing.

The Aussie-style burnouts that Watson normally does in this car just makes it that much better. If any of you know Watson, or can share with us some legit engine specs, we would love to here all about it.
