It’s been around for a few years, but the current CTS-V is still one of the best bang for the buck performance luxury cars that you can get your hands on – at least considering its market and competition. We love them over here, and whenever we see one we fall in love all over again. Is it perfect? Not really. But what in this world is?
Recently, our friends over at Hooniverse have taken a 2013 V coupe for a spin to give the viewers their thoughts. Test reviewer, Jeff Glucker, starts off by saying how he usually chuckles when others in the automotive press mentions how Cadillac is the “Standard of the World.”
It’s in his opinion that Cadillac was once “The Standard,” especially after the all of the disappointing cars they’ve made in the past, but the current V is one of the best cars in the world. Much of the review is Jeff explaining the quality of the interior, the performance of the LSA engine, and the overall sex appeal of the shape of the body.
But we think there’s more to the car than that. As much as we respect Jeff’s opinion, we believe that Cadillac is slowly becoming what it once was in the ’50s – a marque that’s revolutionizing the way we perceive luxury cars.
It definitely made BMW and Mercedes-Benz up their game, and it’s turning our nation’s misconception of the wreath and crest brand from a car for pensioners and urbanites, to a proper luxury/performance brand that demands to be taken seriously. Cadillac may have a way to go to once again become “The Standard,” but at their current rate, they’re well on their way.
