It’s hard to believe, but the new Camaro has been with us for almost six years already. It first debuted in 2006 at the Detroit Auto Show as the Camaro Concept, though the first production Camaros did not roll off of the assembly line until the spring of 2009 as 2010 models. So really, the (new) Camaro is only approaching is third consecutive year of production, but you can be sure that GM is already hard at work on the next-gen model.
Other rumors include the development of a twin-turbo V6, as well as a next-gen 6.2 liter V8 engine. Weight reduction is sure to be a high priority, but what we really want to know is… what will it look like? GM hit a home run with the current Camaro’s design, and we hope they aren’t tempted to return to the retro look that is already so played out. But expect to see more and more 2016 Camaro rumors to pop up in the next few years. On that note, you tell us; what’s on your next-gen Camaro wish list?
