Multi-generational gatherings of Camaros are typically a lot of fun, and the meet up of CamaroNation forum members did not disappoint. This particular group gathers once a month and thanks to the wonderful climate in southern California weather is rarely an issue. Sure, there are other states where the weather permits car meets year round, but with a burger joint in Huntington Beach, California serving as the location for this meet up about the worst case scenario is a little rain or seagull droppings. For those unaware of the corrosive nature of seagull droppings, if the toxic goo is left untouched it will eat through paint and possibly melt glass (okay we’re kidding about the glass, but seagull poop is really bad for paint).
Thanks to the minimal environmental threats this gathering featured a gathering first generation cars to some really sweet looking and sounding fifth generation models. Although there are only two videos documenting the action at CamaroNation Nights, the “rev off” between a 730 horsepower Whipple Charger equipped 2SS and ’68 SS with 396, proves that this gathering is not all show and no go.
For those trapped in the colder regions of the US please enjoy the videos of this Camaro meet, but remember So Cal is plagued by seagulls, traffic and those pesky 80-degree days in January. Hopefully this car meet will not fall prey to certain public service entities deeming an excellent source for generating revenue; but given the location and knowledge that beach cities tend to come down a little hard car guys and gals, let’s hope that CamaroNation Nights are able to continue.
