How your car looks helps determine how much attention it will get, and if this chrome wrapped Camaro could be described as anything, it would certainly be “attention grabbing.” While we’re not quite sure why you’d want a chrome wrapped car, other than to fact that you want all eyes on you, we can appreciate the individual customization and the work that went into making this Camaro unique. The fifth-gen Camaro SS convertible is apparently owned by rap artist “Slim Thug.” In true swag fashion, the car has been treated to not only a custom chrome wrap with chrome Chevy emblems, but also a matte black hood and tail stripes by Houston-based Deviate Autosport. Obviously someone wants some attention and that’s exactly what this combination will get.
Regardless of your thoughts on chromed cars, there is something to be said for the work that goes into accomplishing this look. When you’re wrapping a car, it’s always important to wash the car, and lay out the product before you actually apply it to the car to make sure you have everything positioned carefully. You need the correct tools to attach the graphic to the vehicle for every vinyl wrap, and chrome wraps can be a bit trickier. One little pucker in a vinyl wrap with an intense graphic may go unnoticed, but even one grain of dirt or one tiny crease in a chrome wrap and you may as well put a flashing sign with a giant arrow pointing out the flawed spot. Sounds like a bit too much trouble if you ask me.
We know you guys like custom LSX-based cars and love the modern Camaros, but we want to know what you think about chrome wrapping. Is it worth the hassle and attention, or are there much better things you could do to your car aesthetically?
