Surfing the internet, one can find videos of all sorts of different things to watch; everything from backyard wrestling to a man with a mullet playing a saxophone in a shopping mall. There are endless opportunities of popcorn entertainment in the event that you can’t find anything good on TV.
For the racing fan, one can spend hours, maybe even days, viewing countless clips of people partaking in the exciting field of motorsports. However, often the legality of these speed contests caught on camera is questionable, and we see countless videos of street racing mixed in the bunch. We certainly don’t condone street racing, but this video match up of a twin-turbo Trailblazer SS and a 9-second turbocharged Fox Mustang with an LSx swap peaked our interest when it popped up on our browser.
The combatants...
The details of each vehicle are few and basic, but being familiar with LS vehicles, we recognized the Trailblazer SS (nicknamed “The Purple Minivan”) immediately. It’s made quite a reputation for itself in the LSX Shootouts and has been featured in several other publications. The video depicts each vehicle first making a pass at a dragstrip followed by brief details of each. It then cuts to the racing action shot on a freeway with a Gen-1 CTS-V being used as the “official” camera car. We won’t spoil the ending, but we have to say that index both cars caught ion the mix were impressive to say the least.
