Monster-Sponsored 4th-Gen Camaro is Aged to Perfection

F-body fans are some of the most dedicated, loyal, and passionate car enthusiasts we’ve ever encountered. Even though GM hasn’t produced one in over eleven years, some owners of these 4th-gen cars are more committed to these machines than they are to their significant other.

This is what Guynes' Camaro looked like before it received the Monster treatment.

Take the owner of this Camaro for instance. The ’99 SS convertible on this page belongs to Jared Guynes, and it is one example of the old 4th-Gen cars still remaining relevant in today’s performance scene. In fact, this car is a bit more than a bolt-on F-body trying to remain relevant.

It’s literally the oldest car that is currently sponsored by Monster Energy drink, and Guynes has been persistent in maintaining it’s presence at the drag strip, autocross, and on the car show circuit since 2004. But don’t think this thing is all-show for a second!

Underneath the graphics, you’ll find a combination of BMR and LG Motorsports suspension pieces, a T-56 to row the gears and Strange rear out back stuffed with 3.73 gears. The true-dual exhaust was handmade from the engine back. Under the OEM fiberglass ram air hood the LS1 is stuffed with reinforcements to handle the boost of the 72mm turbo.

Even though it relied on it’s original engine (albeit, with a lot of aftermarket goodies) in the past, Guynes is enlisting the help of some friends in high places to install a LSX-based mill with even more power.

Guynes makes it a point to bring the Camaro to as many shows as possible, as well as promoting his site, RiceKiller.com, that instead of disrespecting the import scene, actually promotes the attitude that all car guys should have – we’re all in this together!

We’ve been seeing this car all over the place on the internet, and if you want to see more, while keeping tabs on Guynes’ Camaro, then you can visit his car’s site at MonsterCamaro.net, or follow the action on Facebook
