Long-time Camaro fans will immediately recognize the name “Berger Chevrolet”. Berger has been building dealer-tuned Camaros at their Michigan based dealership for decades, and their 4th Gen Camaros are still among the most highly-sought after F-bodies. Now, Berger has announced that they intend to continue their Camaros tuner tradition with the new 1LE.
According to Berger’s website the entry level package will just be limited to visual upgrades that are inspired by Chevrolet’s original 1LE SEMA Concept Car. The Berger 1LE will get a custom painted hood and front fender hash-marks that match the 2012 concept car. Berger will also be throwing in some cool 1LE badges, their signature blacked-out rear tail panel, a heritage front grille, and Berger’s trademark “Prescribed Power” graphic under the hood. Cost for the visual package will be just under $3,000 in addition to the MSRP of the 1LE.
Luckily, Berger didn’t neglect the performance side of things, and will also be offering an “optional handling package” for the 1LE. The package will get you the same 305/35ZR20 Goodyear F1 Supercar G:2 rear tires as the ZL1 (instead of the stretched 285’s the 1LE comes stock with), a set of higher-rate Pfadt 1.25-inch lowering springs, and a more aggressive alignment. The Berger handling package will tack on another $1,200 to the price tag.
“We didn’t mess with what works so well with the excellent 1LE package,” said Matt Berger. “The unique transmission ratios and 3.91 gear totally transform the performance feel of the car, compared with a standard SS, but for those who want to take the performance of their car to the next level, we offer tailored upgrades that help the 1LE get around the track even quicker.”
