Winning the Division 4 Moser Shootout at the South Central Division NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event held March 22-24, 2013 in Belle Rose, Louisiana, Jody Simoneaux drove the Moser-sponsored Firebird to the winner’s circle for the Cummings family and Bayou Boyz race team. The team’s use of Moser axles helped give the car its sure-footed launches and reliability needed to post consistent times during the weekend.
Simoneaux has started the racing season strong and shown his sharp skills as a dedicated driver, garnering the $15,000 Division 4 Moser Sportsman Shootout and doubling his payout for the event. To qualify for the posted purse at the 2013 JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals held that weekend, the qualifiers had to utilize Moser Engineering axles and properly display the Moser Engineering product decal during the Sportsman Shootout event.
